I have more than 20 years' experience communicating meaningful stories, inspiring action, and enabling delightful experiences through design. My passion for design and the design mindset is derived first and foremost from the focus on people, and getting to deeply understand their relationships with one another and their environment in order to create useful and innovative solutions for them. Along the way, I strive to facilitate strong, collaborative relationships with both clients and colleagues, and bring energy and enthusiasm — and, as much as possible, some humor! — to the process. Clients have included Silicon Valley powerhouses such as Lyra Health and Opower (Oracle); academic institutions such as Duke University and Johns Hopkins University; and nonprofits such as the Greater Washington Partnership. I focus primarily on service-oriented industries in tech, health care, academia, and social impact.Beyond my day-to-day professional work, I'm an active advocate for the design industry and have a passion for building and fostering the professional community.
