Igor Mendizabal is a hydrogeologist with more than 20 years of professional experience in multi-disciplinary projects on the sustainability of drinking water supply systems and their vulnerability towards human activities. His research interests cover many aspects of groundwater resources management and protection, including: (1) public supply well fields; (2) vulnerability and protection of groundwater resources; (3) groundwater modeling (both flow and transport); (4) groundwater sampling; (5) design and optimization of groundwater monitoring networks; and (6) software development. Igor is also a qualified software developer. In 2012 he raised Waterlabs, a company specialized in the design and implementation of hydrogeological databases and the development of software for the optimal administration, validation and visualization of hydrogeological data.Igor has also a wide experience in the design, sampling, analysis and optimization of groundwater quality monitoring networks. In 2008, he designed and organized the largest ever made national sampling campaign regarding public supply well fields (in The Netherlands), where all active well fields of The Netherlands were sampled and analyzed for more than 60 chemical parameters. Specialties: Hydrogeology, hydrochemistry, hydrochemical databases, automation and visualization, software development, MATLAB, public supply well fields, vulnerability and protection of groundwater resources, groundwater flow and transport modeling, water quality trends, groundwater sampling and chemical analysis, groundwater monitoring networks.
Listed skills include Groundwater, Water Quality, Hydrogeology, Groundwater Modeling, and 13 others.
