I was sitting in my high school's AP Psychology class when I saw the first video on the psychology behind marketing. Before I just knew I wanted to be part of the business industry but I had no idea exactly what path I wanted to take from there. I was astonished that companies I relied on had me hooked by simply using specific wording I wasn't aware of. I couldn't fathom that reason I had bought a can of soda was all because of the splashing water and bubbles in the background enticing my thirst for it. A visit to Invesco during a Rock The Street Wall Street program solidified that awe when I found out the slight differences in tones of color in a webpage or article were essential to the marketability of their services.To me, marketing has become an art. I want to paint a picture using the colors of persuasion in advertising, consumer feedback and satisfaction, and product development to someday make the product or service shown in my psychology class. I am ready to take on the challenges of marketing in my own way and grasp the understanding required to aid the industry forward.
