Ph.D. Student Researcher in Collaboration with PPG and Army Research Laboratory• Synthesized and characterized novel benzoxazines, amines and methacrylated-benzoxazines with various building blocks (furan, aliphatic and hydroxyl) that have low viscosity, high functionality and unique chemical structures.• Synthesized and characterized novel benzoxazine systems that provide 2x higher Tg and char yield, 3x higher toughness, and 50–120% higher strength with excellent processability and fire retardancy compared to traditional benzoxazines derived from BPA. • Investigated the effect of building blocks on curing mechanisms of novel benzoxazines, which improved the performance of polybenzoxazines.• Prepared fiber-reinforced composites through liquid resin transfer molding (RTM) technique using benzoxazine resin systems.• Performed co-photopolymerization of novel methacrylated-benzoxazine systems via digital light processing (DLP) technique, which produced 3D printed parts with high performance.• Optimized synthesis of novel furan-based benzoxazines. Led efforts to scale up production for additive manufacturing and composite applications.
