ID-ware enables multinationals, governments and public institutions to effectively tackle physical access management challenges by providing a deeply customizable software platform for credential, authorization and visitor management. As a technical project lead I translate the access management needs of our customers into a fit for purpose solution. This includes clarifying their requirements, specifying the high level architecture, data model, processes and interfaces, developing user stories for missing features, installing and configuring the platform, and finally, support during the roll-out of the system.In addition, I specify the design of our customers' DESFire-based credentials as well as the key management solution of their (SAM-based) readers. For large governmental organizations I also author updates to improve on the functionality, security and scalability of the system while maintaining backwards compatibility.Besides serving external customers I am also responsible for technical enhancements in the ID-ware personalisation department, where cards and other credentials are printed and encoded. This includes the automation of manual processes, the migration of a diverse set of legacy tools and applications to a centralized platform and integrating this platform with customer solutions to efficiently provide personalisation services.

As senior advisor I advise public transport operators, authorities and suppliers to realize modern ticketing solutions. Appreciated for my analytical skills, quick understanding of the customer problem and high-quality output, I worked on numerous projects fulfilling a variety of technical roles, example projects are:Systems architect: A local payment scheme in South-East Asia sought the acceptance of their debit cards in transit. I supported the definition of roles and responsibilities, use cases and transaction flows. The work ensured alignment with the national transport authority, financial institutions, transport operators and suppliers.Business analyst: A transport operator in the Middle East wanted to procure a new ticketing system. Based on a gap-analysis, an international benchmark and discussions with suppliers, I captured the business needs and the corporate strategy in a set of functional and non-functional requirements for a future proof system.Technical lead: The European Travellers Club (ETC) is a EU funded initiative to enable cross-border ticketing in Europe. I acted as the technical lead from UL and supported in the specification of the personalization of a generic secure token, the pilots evaluation, quality assurance and an implementation guide for future participants.Business architect: The Dutch Public Transport Council (NOVB) aimed to unlock ticketing data to improve the efficiency of public transport on a national level. We created a broadly supported basic requirements design including a stakeholder analysis, business model definition, and system architecture.Development lead: A transport operator in the pacific wanted to improve the efficiency of their ticketing device testing. To do so, we developed a test tool on top of UL's test platform and hardware to simulate transit cards on devices and verify the changes made to the card.
