At Instinctiv I developed high-end mountain bikes that provide maximum confidence.I developed and a range of distinct trail and enduro bikes with our great team. All models are designed around the Puma kinematic platform and share a single goal: ‘to boost confidence, provide more fun and make you descend quicker.’ The project kicked off in 2017; when I sketched our first frame ideas. In 2019 I co-founded Instinctiv Bicycles BV, in 2022 the first models were launched and since 2023 a total of five models are commercially available. My role and responsibilities:• program lead and strategic development roadmaps• Instinctiv’s topology inspired design language • optimized geometry & sizing strategies• developing and patenting the PUMA kinematic platform: PUMA reduces swingarm flex and torsional forces on the shock, increases responsiveness and prolongs shock-life. • technical drawings & diagrams for mold making• guiding prototyping, testing, and optimisations• production implementation and setting-up quality control• CGI for website• test-riderSince 2021 we've grown a reputation and set a bit of a benchmark with the bikes’ ‘plush suspension and central riding position’ (Enduro MTB). Offering ‘an extremely smooth ride’ (rice.ch) with ‘its first-class rear-end’ (bike magazine).Personally I have thoroughly enjoyed taking this project from idea to series production. And I love seeing people ride our bikes and have fun on - what was once - just a sketch on paper.
