I am a third year, undergraduate student at Herbert H. Lehman College. My major is Social Work with a minor in Africana Studies. I am passionate about advocating for human rights, and building stronger families and communities. With a concentration in Social Work, I focus my academic work on families, disparities in education, housing, and economic and social mobility. I am seeking an internship to utilize my education and gain experience that is constituent to my devotion to pursue a career in social work.Having spent five years as a licensed hairdresser, I have developed the skills to readily assess situations, with a critical thinking intellect. My ability to communicate affectively has been augmented through consistent interactions with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. I was able to build a great sense of team work and use my creative nature to solve clients' needs.
