At SandboxAQ, I invent new physics and AI methods and lead a team to build software to understand biology and therapeutics.Prior to joining SandboxAQ, I developed software at Deep Forest Sciences, a deep learning SaaS company. I was a MolSSI Software Fellow and worked with David Mobley@UC Irvine on FEP, machine leaning, and graph optimization. I previously worked at the NCI/NIH for 5 years and completed my PhD at the University of Maryland where I worked to discover the biophysics of epigenetic drivers of cancer.I have taught university courses in scientific software and machine learning, statistical mechanics, and physics.

Physics And Chemistry Graduate Teaching AssistantUniversity Of Maryland Jan 2020 - Aug 2021For physics and chemistry discussion classes I solve problems or answer questions to students in sections that have covered topics from Newtonian physics, general and organic chemistry, statistical mechanics and thermodynamics. For chemistry lab classes, I guide students through organic chemistry experiments with a focus on chemical safety. For physics labs I taught students, in addition to the physics of the lab, how to perform complex analysis or use custom macros in Excel. Since I have taught in person through most of 2020 and 2021 I am also responsible for ensuring proper safety practices are maintained according to CDC guidelines. For all classes I hold office hours and keep an organized file of student work, with backups, through the semester. I have received very positive reviews from students about my ability to teach the material clearly. Research FellowNational Cancer Institute (Nci) Aug 2015 - 2020Bethesda, Md, UsThrough the UMD-NCI Parternship for Integrative Cancer Research, I was an awarded a competitive fellowship to work at the NCI/NIH during my graduate degree. As the resident computational theorist in the Dalal lab, I worked on an interdisciplinary team at the NCI to develop new quantitative insight on chromatin physics in cancer. - Derived and implemented a new computational method to calculate the Young’s modulus of nucleosomes from equilibrium simulations. My model quantitatively agrees with in vitro Atomic Force Microscopy nanoindentation.- Performed first analysis of the material properties of oncogenic hybrid nucleosomes.- Discovered through all-atom computational modeling of nucleosomes that specific histone core acetylations disrupt kinetochore seeding in mitosis, proven in vivo.-Provide biophysical, mathematical, and computational skills to an interdisciplinary team of cell biologists, biochemists, and experimental biophysicists. Then, work as a team member to address research problems and give scientific feedback to interdisciplinary colleagues. This work was done in collaboration with my research position at the University of Maryland.
