The EUROPE DIRECT Information Center Munich is a joint project of the City of Munich and the European Commission. It is carried out in cooperation beween the Department of Labor and Economic Development and the Department of Arts and Culture (City Library) of the City of Munich. EUROPE DIRECT is an information network across Europe, designed to answer all citizens' needs concerning the European Union. It is a project supported by the European Commission to enable local citizens to obtain information, advice, assistance and answers to questions about the EU. Moreover, the network shall actively promote local and regional debates about the EU and its policies. It is aimed at helping the European institutions to improve the dissemination of information and gives the public the opportunity to send feedback to the EU institutions. There are about 500 EUROPE DIRECT information centers in ther European Union, about 55 of them are placed in Germany.The „Europaforum“ is a series of events of the EUROPE DIRECT Information Center Munich. It is carried out in cooperation with the City Library and is held under the patronage of Dieter Reiter – Mayor of Munich.
