Led the corporate communications and global marketing team during a time of change over 2018/2019, which saw Orion transform its corporate strategy from a $200 million listed company to separate into three companies, attract significant investment from UK private equity, offer OHE Shareholders a share buyback, de-list from the NZX and ASX and rebuild on its solid foundations as a global healthcare tech company.

Boarding the Xero rocket ship, I ran with a team of former journos, writers, social media experts and PR professionals based in Australia, Singapore, U.S., the UK and NZ. Together we hustled every day across multiple time zones to tell the story of small businesses to the world. As part of a think tank and social ventures organization based in Seattle, I managed communications for the Giving Pledge, a philanthropic initiative establishing new norms around giving led by Bill and Melinda Gates and Warren Buffet. I supported executive engagements including WIRED, TED, University campus tours and visits to India, China, Australia. These engagements and many more discussed priority topics including philanthropy, foreign aid, energy and climate change, U.S state budget issues and global health.

Microsoft Corporation, Government Leader ForumsWorking closely with Corporate Communications, we managed and executed regional PR strategy for Government Leaders Forums (GLF), Microsoft’s flagship event for government and public sector officials. This entailed driving a comprehensive media strategy, managing multiple executive media agendas across multiple events in Europe, Middle East, the Americas and Asia Pacific. Over 70 media were usually onsite and an average of 300 stories generated as a result of each event. Microsoft, Worldwide Imagine CupAs part of Imagine Cup, the ‘world cup’ of technology competition, we developed and executed a significant onsite media agenda for four Worldwide Finals in India, South Korea, France and Egypt. Over 150 media onsite were managed at each event, with an average of 700 stories generated globally. Cisco New ZealandDeveloped and managed communications strategy for Cisco New Zealand including the launch of their innovative TelePresence video technology. Microsoft New Zealand -- Citizenship and Corporate Social ResponsibilityDeveloped and managed CSR and Citizenship communications strategy and activity. TZ1 (now known as Markit)Developed the initial communications strategy and marketing collateral for TZ1.

During my time at Microsoft, I was based in Sydney covering Asia Pacific for Corporate Affairs and then relocated to Microsoft HQ in Seattle where I managed global PR, led citizenship strategy, managed compete issues and executive communications during my time on the Corporate Communications team.
