My background hasn't always been in the motor industry, I started out working for my local pub which I was doing practically full time when I was just 18. As I'm a confident people person I instantly built relationships and quickly became a popular member of staff. At the age of 19 I decided there is more to life than the pub and I should go out there and get a proper job. The opportunity presented itself to work at ARF and as I have always had a keen interest in cars I thought it would be a good leap to take. I was given the opportunity to join the business as a Admin Junior, quickly advancing to become an administrator and then I took the jump across to Sales. A job which requires commitment, being self motivated and being able to successfully manage my time. I have seen the industry grow in the last 10 years - Its far more advanced than 6 years ago when I initially made the switch to Sales, there are far more factors involved and tougher decisions imposed on Fleet Managers and Business Owners to ensure they contract efficient and cost effective vehicles. I know the industry very well and up until now assisted customers find their ideal vehicles, regardless of cost. With the introduction of Whole life Costs, the drop in co2 emissions and taxes companies are looking in particular at overall cost of ownership instead of just the rental. Coupled with significant changes in legislation in recent years - we operate more as Consultants rather than sales people and given my experience in Fleet Sales and Consultancy it is now that expertise I utilise to assist customers every day.From October 14 I felt I had enough experience to step up into management and I now manage the office at Rivervale Contract Hire and Leasing. We are in a unique position in the Leasing market in that we can accommodate used vehicles in addition to new and have a new industry leading office which will offer a full after sales service to local customers.
