I have been working for MusiCraft since 2020, four days a week. On other days, I facilitate creative botanical workshops for Elderflower and assist with social media marketing for ZS Consulting Services and a few small businesses. I also assist with some ad hoc HR work when needed.In the past 21 years or so, I spent 16 years at the Vineyard Hotel in Newlands, where I loved working in the Human Resources team. After a brief stint at Cad Graphics/Omnigraphics in Westlake, Covid hit, and I was retrenched.In November 2020, I joined MusiCraft (Woodwind & Brasswind Specialists), reconnecting with Victor De Freitas, a colleague from the 80s at Orchestral & Band Suppliers and Pianoland. When Orchestral & Band Suppliers liquidated in 1992, Victor took over the workshop, and it's been thriving ever since. Victor kindly offered me a position at MusiCraft to assist with imports, admin, social media management, and general business support. So here I am, doing very little HR but learning a whole bunch of new skills and loving it.I've gained experience in creating basic social media advertisements and helping small businesses get their name out there. One thing I've certainly learned is that I'm capable of diving in and picking up new skills.
