With over 35 years of experience in community advocacy and capacity building, Mercy is theco-creator of Visthar, a non-formal Academy of Justice and Peace. Currently serving as the Executive Director of Visthar, Mercy has initiated, designed, and implemented international and national study programs for students, social workers, and other professionals. For over two decades, Mercy's focus has been on capacity building for civil society organizations in gender, diversity, and development. That work enables NGOs, FBOs, and INGOs to perceive gender as a cross-cutting perspective, mainstream gender within organizations, and evolve gender-sensitive indicators for PME of organizations, programs, and projects.Experience and Skills:Capacity building - gender justice (2000 – ongoing)- Founded the international program on Gender, Diversity, and Social Transformation - Co-facilitates the Training for Transformation program in Cape Town, South Africa- Trained media persons for Gender and Media Connect, Zimbabwe- Trained participants of the Asia Pacific Alliance of YMCAs in South-East Asia - Facilitated gender training for relief organizations in Afghanistan- Supported Human Rights Foundation for Dalit Liberation on their gender programming- Supported humanitarian relief agencies to mainstream gender in their programs- Trained Disability Rights organizations on gender and its intersection with disability.PublicationsTraining Manuals co-authored with Ranjani Krishnamurthy:1.
