In my role as Children's Programming Specialist, I designed and directed library programs for babies, school-age children, and teens. I worked at both the Pooler and Garden City Library branches, in West Chatham county. My programs included things like baby and preschool storytimes, music programs, arts and crafts activities, STEM programs, homeschool programs, games and themed parties, and Summer Reading programs, including kickoff parties. I have a particular interest in technology programs for kids, and over the years I have run library programs in coding, electronics, and robotics. In addition to my programming responsibilities, I also handled circulation duties, reference transactions, reader's advisory, public computing assistance, library orientations and class visits, community outreach, collection maintenance, and book ordering for all children's and teen collections for West Chatham libraries. I also liked to use my art skills to create eye-catching displays, props, and decorations for the library.

As a part-time instructor in an afterschool STEM program, I taught simple coding and electronics building to kids using Makey Makey, the visual coding language Scratch, and a lot of crazy materials. I love letting kids explore computer science with creative, hands-on projects that are fun and innovative.
