When a mountain is in front of me, I not only see the challenge to embrace and overcome it, but also an inspiring opportunity. Climbing a mountain is hard work, but making it to the top truly means achieving something great. It’s not for everyone. How do I climb a mountain successfully?I understand that it takes bringing diverse voices together, so we might reach our collective potential.I strive to live by example in how I serve others.I take ownership of situations and strive to surpass expectations.I prevent potential problems that get in the way of the experience.I am courageously transparent when there are setbacks. And I innovatively solve for unexpected challenges. How do these values show up for me professionally?I know that in anything I do, design, or create - whether a product, a program, or an experience - it should be done alongside the constituent who has the most barriers to overcome. Chances are we’ll end up making something that everyone will benefit from.Listening to one individual explain the pain points of their experience is always valuable, but even better is gathering feedback from multiple end-users (and even going through an experience myself). I endeavor to truly embrace the perspectives of current stakeholders, as well as the ones we haven’t been able to reach yet - whether it’s through the lens of equitability, usability, or efficiency. This helps me effectively influence and advocate for what needs to be improved. When I see a need, I don’t hesitate to take the initiative to try something different. This can look like identifying a problem statement, hypothesizing what will work, implementing a solution, and then evaluating the output. I’m known for not stopping there - but continually optimizing and striving for even better results.I excel at helping an organization collectively and transformationally shift to meet new realities and demands while remaining true to its cultural values. We have to keep up and be relevant.
