Meredith Cornett’s experience in climate change, conservation and ecology spans more than two decades. Born in Atlanta, Georgia, she moved to Minnesota for graduate school and has lived here ever since. Her first “real” job in Minnesota was with the MNDNR Division of Forestry as a Community Forest Ecologist. After three years in the Metro region, she moved to Duluth to join the staff of The Nature Conservancy. In spring, 2023, she completed a rewarding career with TNC, where she held several different positions, including a long run as Director of Science and, most recently, as Climate Change Director. She currently works for the University of Minnesota Climate Adaptation Partnership (MCAP) on developing the new Weather Ready climate extension program. Cornett enjoys working with students and faculty on applied research and maintains an adjunct appointment in the Conservation Sciences Graduate Program at the University of Minnesota.
