Meredith Harper Houston is a business owner, nonprofit Founder/Chair and choreographer. Her Balletics: Raising the Barré Company was designed specifically for athletes to achieve optimal performance benefits in: Speed, Mental Focus, Symmetry, Balance, Strength, Flexibility , Precision & Control, Endurance. Balletics: Raising The Barré provides safe, high-quality athletics allowing students to release stress and build character, goal-setting and social skills, as well as to develop a strong self-esteem and healthy body image.In addition to owning her own athletic performance company, Meredith is the Founder and Chair of Swan Within: Healing Through Ballet. The Swan Within is a nonprofit that transforms the lives of underage girls who have survived of commercial sexual exploitation of children (CSEC) and continue to suffer through juvenile incarceration. Meredith founded Swan Within to create 'a safe space for girls who have been abused so they can have full agency over their bodies'. Informed by her own transformative ballet journey out of the trauma caused by abuse, Meredith created a ballet-based curriculum to combine scholarship and mentorship for teenage girls.A dancer since the age of four, Meredith began studying at the Joanne Reagan Dance Studio, which was followed by a stint at the Philadelphia Dance Company, then to University of the Arts Summer Intensive with Judith Jameson and finally at the Alvin Ailey Studios in New York. During her 17 years as a choreographer, Meredith’s clients have included Alicia Keys, Juliet & The Licks, Kidd Rock, T-Pain, Ludacris, Jamiroquai, Panic! At The Disco and television programs such as Saturday Night Live, MTV Music Video Awards.Meredith’s talents extend to the pages of Jones magazine where she served as Beauty Director from 2011 to 2014.
