My name is Meredith and I am the mom of a kind, smart, brave, funny, and beautiful little girl. I know firsthand how joyful and challenging breastfeeding can be. I am still breastfeeding today (3.5 years in!) and continue to feel humbled by the some of the issues we faced and overcome together. Most of all, I feel an extraordinary sense of achievement in what we have done together, in terms of setting both of us up for success as it relates to our physical health, for the rest of our lives. As I’ve worn different hats throughout my career, I’ve worked with many different client populations. My experience as a doula inspired me to never stop asking questions and to develop my lactation skills to be able to help breastfeeding families. I understand the critical role that infant feeding plays in maternal mental health and the impact that that experience can have on her parenthood journey.In 2010, I graduated from Saint Olaf College with a BA in Family Studies and Psychology. I then went on to get my AAS in Occupational Therapy Assistant from Anoka Technical College in 2020. I am currently in graduate school at the University of Minnesota studying Parent and Family Education. I will graduate with a MEd and an initial Teaching License. I became an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant in 2024. I am a member of the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine, the Institute for the Advancement of Breastfeeding & Lactation Educators, the International Lactation Consultants Association, the United States Lactation Consultants Association, and the Minnesota Breastfeeding Coalition, as well as the International Association of Orofacial Myology, the Academy of Myofunctional Therapy, the Academy of Applied Myofunctional Sciences, and the International Affiliation of Tongue-tie Professionals. I live with my husband, child, and 3 dogs in St. Paul, Minnesota.My specialties include:- Taking a comprehensive breastfeeding and lactation history of both the lactating parent and child - Performing an exam of the lactating breast - Performing a breast pump assessment - Evaluating infant oral anatomy and function - Evaluating feeding and assessing milk transfer - Evaluating infant and toddler growth- Documenting on both parent and child - Triaging parent mental health concerns (screen & refer) - Managing non-pharmacological treatment for BFL conditions (e.g., mastitis, hyperlactation, vasospasm) - Managing milk production issues (e.g., insufficient or over-production)
