Remote sensing/image processing work using MODIS and MISR data from EOS (Earth Observing System) satellites pertaining to spring/summer changes in Jakobshavn Glacier, Greenland, and determination of glacial facies. Interpretation and analysis of ice sheet mass balance using processed and raw Airborne Topographic Mapper LIDAR data and satellite LIDAR data from the ICEsat Geoscience Laser Altimeter System (GLAS). Correlation of melt signal with climatic oscillations. Additionally, performed remote sensing/image processing and GIS data analysis for CWESt project: Influence of Climate Change on Water Supply in the McKenzie River Basin: Analysis of Long-term and Spatial Hydrologic Data.

Worked at the OSU Center for Writing and Learning. Aided graduate and undergraduate students who seek help in improving their technical and/or general writing skills, especially students for whom English is a second language. Specialized inthesis writing.

T.A. for Geology/Biology 394, Oceanography.

Participated in MER mission before and after landing. Collected samples, compiled literature review, and performed XRD analyses related to terrestrial formation of specular hematite relevant to Opportunity Rover’s landing site. Worked at NASA JPL after landing (January-May, 2004) as Geology Theme Group Member for both Spirit and Opportunity Rovers. Responsibilities included driving Science Activity Planning (SAP) software used in planning rover scientific investigations, analyzing downlinked data in real time and collaborating with MER team members in devising a science plan for the following sol (Martian day). Acting as Geology Theme Group Lead for Opportunity Rover on a number of occasions. Participating in extended mission operations both at JPL and remotely from ASU.

Research of Martian geology and Earth analogs with astrobiological perspectives. Responsibilities include maintenance of lab facilities, archiving data, embedding and cutting rock samples for thin sectioning, petrographic microscope work, X-Ray Diffraction analyses, Remote Sensing and GIS analyses; Dr. Jack D.
