Lead Trauma Pi Specialist
CurrentAssists the trauma quality program with coordination, investigation, analysis and response to quality/patient safety issues, events, significant care issues and trends. Assists with assessing root cause analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, and process improvement, working with multidisciplinary teams.Supports the Trauma Performance Improvements and Patient Safety Program (PIPS) through assisting with identification of complications, comorbidities, and compliance with trauma guidelines.Participates in trauma case reviews, escalation of events through quality committees, and linking performance improvement data to actions plans, educational programs, and/or outreach.Serves as a resource to work-groups for planning, implementation and coordination of activities to maximize service quality, effectiveness, and efficiency. Works with Trauma Leadership team to develop and analyze data for administrative and clinical decision making, as well as regulatory requirements.Monitors trend reports for trauma PI events and identifies opportunities to improve patient care or processes.Validates accuracy of process measures and data elements used for PI dashboards and bench-marking.Facilitates and assists in implementing evidence based practice strategies to meet patient needs.Demonstrates event resolution through the timeliness and accuracy of reports and record keeping.Monitors and reports completed actions for sustainment of success or need for continued action.Collaborates with Trauma leadership team to validate accuracy of data elements used for PI dashboards and bench-marking.Participates in the delivery of education to members of the multidisciplinary team involved in the care of trauma patients.Supervises the daily performance improvement activities of the Trauma Nurse Clinicians (TNCs).
