Prior to focusing on veterinary health and One Health research, Meredith served as the general counsel of a major Irvine, CA, patent enforcement firm. Meredith was responsible for driving management’s legal efforts in building an investment platform for the acquisition of mature technology, biotech companies, and absolute return assets. She also managed a licensing and patent attorneys team and led deal teams and a governance campaign to acquire innovative healthcare assets at the height of the pandemic.Meredith began her career in transactional and employment law, serving as an associate at several major law firms. She then concentrated her transactional practice on the investment management sector before going on to focus these skills on healthcare and tech-oriented roles.In addition to her professional endeavors, Meredith Simmons serves as President of the Board of Directors of Crossroads Community Services, Inc., a Midtown Manhattan soup kitchen and choice pantry, and BecomingX Foundation, a U.S. and U.K.-based educational philanthropy committed to helping children all over the world. Meredith is a dedicated amateur equestrian and a 15x marathoner who has run races all over the world and loves all kinds of sports. While she bleeds UCLA Bruin blue during basketball season, her grandfather went to 'Bama, so she has a soft spot for SEC football.
