About Meredith Burke Hammons, Ph.D., Gpc

I use the term "grant strategist" because it conveys that writing is not all that I do. The work of creating competitive grant proposals includes developing a funding strategy, finding well-aligned funders and creating relationships, working with people with lived experience to identify the need for programs and evaluate how well programs meet that need, ensuring that organizations have robust knowledge management systems, tracking deadlines, and much more..I am one of only 20 people in the state of Georgia to have earned the Grant Professional Credential (GPC).All my past experiences have contributed to giving me the skills to be an exceptional grant strategist. The years of academic study gave me writing skills, library work gave me research, organizational, and people skills, testing and interpreting aptitudes helped me understand my own strengths and weaknesses and enabled me to work with a wide range of people, teaching at a variety of levels prepared me to give high quality training. To bring my contracted grant services together with subcontracting and training, I founded Burke Hammons Consulting, LLC.
