CAMBRIDGE SUMMER MUSIC was founded in 1979. It exists to promote live classical music of the highest calibre in Cambridge and the surrounding villages. It presents outstanding soloists, chamber ensembles and orchestras as well as supporting talented young artists at the beginning of their careers. It provides a platform for the works of living composers as well as more familiar repertoire, all performed in beautiful historic settings in and around our great city. The 2017 Cambridge Summer Music Festival was very successful, with Academy of Ancient Music, Aurora Orchestra, Martinu Quartet & others. PharmaSea succeeded in removing a number of bottlenecks in the development of new products based on marine bioresources, Headed by Professor Marcel Jaspars of the University of Aberdeen and involving partners from a number of European and other research organisations and companies. I was responsible for aspects of dissemination and technology transfer and work on new directions in Access and Benefit-sharing of marine genetic resources. www.pharma-sea.eu

This was an EU-funded position - CSA MarineBiotech has prepared the ground for establishing trans-national strategic coordinated action for Marine Biotechnology research, development and innovation in Europe, by helping to bring national funding agencies and major interested parties together. Bioscience for Business Knowledge Transfer Network is one of the organisations set up by the UK Government to support British industry through innovation. BfB KTN majored in industrial biotechnology (green chemistry, bioeenergy, sustainable and renewable industrial technologies, materials and inputs, and marine bioresources development). Meredith was responsible with colleagues for moving the 'blue biotech' (marine biotechnology) area forward.
