About Meredith Martens

I am Direct Admit to the Tippie College of Business at the University of Iowa where I am majoring in Marketing and minoring in Psychology as well as pursing certificates in Leadership Studies and International Business. My areas of study stem from my passion to help and interact with people and understand the science behind Marketing and its connection with why people do what they do or buy what they buy. I am very interested in a career in many fields, such as Consumer Behavior, Advertising, Content Creation, Health Administration, Sports Marketing, etc. I love business because it is extremely versatile in that you can work in conjunction with so many different areas of study. I am originally from Naperville, Illinois where I have lots of experience as a swim coach and media & video coordinator for various athletic teams. As a swim coach, I led daily practices & multiple meets every week and built great connections with over 200 swimmers & their parents. I was a swim coach of a five-time NSC City Champion team, and, out of a staff of 26 coaches, I scheduled the most private lessons for two years in a row.At the University of Iowa, I am a third year student who is involved in Alpha Kappa Psi (Professional Business Fraternity), Chi Omega Women’s Fraternity, President's Leadership Class, Business Student Ambassador Organization, and the University of Iowa's Women's Club Basketball team. Throughout all my experiences and communities, I have learned the importance of continuously learning, communication, teamwork, and synergy as well as the benefits of stepping up and becoming a leader amongst others.
