Conducts initial physical assessment of organ donor. Collects human tissue specimens for further testing. Coordinates with donor hospital and transplant teams for organ recovery surgery. Assists in the operating room in various roles such as proper packaging and labels of recovered organs for transplant. Ensure that all donor, transplant, and hospital staff follow standards and policies outlined by CORE, UNOS, and donor hospital. Collaborates with members of the health care team to increase donor awareness by developing, supporting, and educating hospital staff.

Responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care for COVID-19, critical care, respiratory failure, heart failure, stroke, sepsis, substance abuse, and pre-/post-surgical patient population.
