In this role, I direct Mouse's national youth engagement and instructional programs, including "Mouse Create" our blended learning platform serving creative STEM and design curriculum to over 15,000 middle and high school youth annually, at 1000+ schools. I also direct the delivery and national growth of our flagship "Design League" tech & innovation program, where students work in teams follow the human-centered design process to create an app that addresses challenges within their communities. I work in partnership with organizational leadership to craft a strategic vision that creates equitable pathways to college and career for young BIPOC leaders and innovators. Over many years at Mouse, I have led programs with the support of partnerships including Mozilla, Best Buy, the National Science Foundation, the NYC Department of Education, DYCD, Simons Foundation, SYEP, Pinkerton, the Department of Commerce and Microsoft PiL.

In this role, I design and direct the largest city-wide annual teen digital media and technology project fair and facilitate the event's steering committee including youth leaders and staff representatives from Mouse, Global Kids, New York Public Library, CS4ALL NYC @ the New York City Department of Education, Hive NYC and Parsons School for Design. For the 2020 event, I successfully transitioned Emoti-Con from a live fair to a virtual, asynchronous event in response to COVID-19 in only 3 months. The new digital format and expanded outreach campaign increased the events accessibility, attracting more student project presenters than ever before.

As part of my role as the Sr. Director of After School and Informal Learning at Mouse, I serve as the lead learning designer of Mouse Create, which operates like a small ed-tech start-up within a non-profit organization. Mouse Create is Mouse's hybrid, blended digital learning platform with 15+ STEM and creative technology, project-based courses for over 15,000 middle and high school youth across the country. We designed the learning content and user interface to allow educators the flexibility to deliver the activities either synchronously or asynchronous, face to face or remotely, and to give students the freedom to geek-out on their own, to submit and discuss work in small teams, and to build a shareable portfolio of digital badges in partnership with Acclaim. As the lead learning designer, I've project managed feature designs, testing, and bug-tracking with contractual and in-house developers. I liaise between Mouse staff, funders, institutional partners, users, and developers to release ongoing updates informed by user data and feedback, and instructional design research. I've converted in-person instruction into digital courses and written original courses in collaboration with subject matter experts. I've designed thousands of learning graphics, videos, and interactive media. I've managed an accessibility audit to ensure our content and platform reach all users of all abilities.

Presented "Hour of Code" HTML/CSS/Javascript workshops to graduate students in the Library program at Pratt, as a demonstration for how to engage youth in informal learning environments.
