About Merete Sanderhoff

Curator and senior advisor of digital museum practice at SMK, the National Gallery of Denmark. Part of the digital steering committee overseeing all digital strategy development and implementation at SMK. Also part of the team behind SMK Open, the museum's award-winning online collection, and SMK Connect, a new education platform in the making, helping students all over the country become critical, creative and, co-creative with art.I am responsible for the museum’s open access policy and work to foster active re-use of the museum’s digitised collections for research, learning, knowledge sharing, and creativity. Since 2011, together with great colleagues in Denmark and abroad, I have organized the Sharing is Caring conferences to set an agenda for openness in the global GLAM community. I am also active in the development of European copyright and Commons policies and serve as member of Europeana Foundation’s Advisory Board.With an MA in art history as my background, I have continuously published writing on contemporary artistic practices, cultural policies as well as digital museum practices. I have also had the pleasure of guest curating exhibitions at Ordrupgaard, Vejle Art Museum, Randers Art Museum, and others.
