I am an experienced engineer and manager with over 40 years of experience. I have served as CTO, and as an officer and director of a publicly traded company. I also served as CTO of the state of Oklahoma’s telecommunications network, OneNet. I was instrumental in the creation of OneNet, working with the public, state agencies and the state legislature. A study by Oklahoma State University concludes that the state of Oklahoma saves over 80 million dollars per year as a result of OneNet’s design and operation.I am experienced in international operations and network security; providing support for a financial services company. I managed routers, firewalls and VPN tunnels to support NYSE Euronext operations in Paris and Amsterdam. I supported outsourced data centers and disaster recovery sites at several SunGard facilities. I worked with their software development team in Hong Kong. I managed the migration of one of their data centers to Dubai, working with Eastnets, to create an operation more efficient to support their Middle Eastern clients.As the former CTO of a telephone company, I understand how carriers operate and the technology that is used to deploy telecommunications networks. I developed an ISP operation from less than 3,000 customers to more than 11,000 customers. For a broadband wireless ISP, I designed and built their core data center operation. I commissioned and maintained the electronics at each of their field locations. My staff and I provided 7x24 network operations center (NOC) support for their network.I have extensive experience negotiating and working with manufacturers and service providers. I have worked closely with senior management of industry leaders such as Cisco, Sun Microsystems, and Unisys. Cisco CEO, John Chambers, has credited me for developing Oklahoma’s statewide network infrastructure as part of the creation of the Internet.
