My primary responsibilities are focused on Curriculum, but I also support operations and professional learning. I lead various course authoring/instructional design efforts, with a focus on providing high quality, accessible online content for our learners and teachers. I collaborate in planning, developing, and delivering a variety of professional learning opportunities for our WVS teachers, over 200 partnering districts, and the broader Wisconsin Digital Learning Collaborative (WDLC). I also teach online as a small but rewarding part of my position, which allows me to engage with learners and apply online teaching best practices on a regular basis.

I was the program leader for our school district's online learning program - Madison Virtual Campus. On a daily basis, I engaged in the following activities: - supported and managed the online and blended learning opportunities available in the district- oversaw program/system operations including maintaining our student information system and learning management system- coordinated program and enrollment information across all our schools and departments- supported our district's online content teachers and online mentors through a variety of professional learning and coaching opportunitiesI also was one of the online mentors for our district, acting as a local guide and an advocate for our students.I was actively involved in planning the meaningful expansion of flexible learning opportunities for our students. I collaborated with stakeholders to align our online learning vision with other district initiatives such as going 1:1 with devices, offering more personalized learning pathways, and authoring locally available online and blended curriculum. Additionally, I provided training and support for district staff on integrating technology into their teaching and learning.Madison Virtual Campus is a proud partner in the Wisconsin Digital Learning Collaborative (WDLC) with the Wisconsin eSchool Network (WEN). As the District Liaison for Madison, I served on the WEN Board of Directors and on committees for professional learning and emerging technology trends. I was a also a facilitator for the WDLC professional learning community across the state.

I provided customer support and training to professional association clients utilizing our Learning Management System, which is a customized instance of Moodle. I regularly collaborated with clients and colleagues on technical approaches and solutions for their workflow needs. I advised clients on best practices for instructional design, user experience, and content development (including SCORM). I developed internal training objectives and content to support new hires and refresh existing resources. I planned and performed vital quality assurance tests on our software, working with developers to improve processes and results. I assisted sales/marketing, programming, and project management teams with writing proposals, designing technical documentation, mapping client transition plans, and creating company blog posts.

I taught a 10-week Technology Integration course to students working towards their K-12 teaching licenses. The course focused on exploration and creation, utilizing a wide variety of educational technologies, from productivity tools to gamification, social media, and collaborative tools. Meaningful lesson planning and discussions were included regularly along with creative projects. I built and delivered my course using Schoology and D2L and communicated remotely with students through emails, screencasts, and Skype.

I taught Modern World History, International Relations, and U.S. History. I designed and implemented standards-based common curriculum and assessments that emphasized student discussion, critical thinking, and analysis of diverse sources of information. For student activities and assessments, I incorporated a variety of engaging instructional methods and technologies that supported learning activities to meet objectives. I also coached the MHS Mock Trial team for three years, which was very rewarding!

I efficiently managed front desk responsibilities and office projects for Curricular and Enrollment Services. Reserving rooms on campus for a variety of educational and professional events year-round was part of my regular duties, providing a great glimpse into the variety of social and educational events that are welcomed on campus. I greeted walk-ins, communicated with department representatives, answered calls, and utilized the information database (Oracle - PeopleSoft) to handle confidential student information as well as to scan and file documents.

As a summer intern, I taught Summer Camp participants, ages 7-13, using interactive educational activities in the galleries. My duties included researching, preparing, and exploring hands-on art activities with visitors in the galleries. I also assisted in the coordination and set-up of the Presidential Scholars’ artwork exhibition and reception. I compiled and input statistical information regarding school tours, virtual tours, and walk-in tours in the EDGE database as well.
