Teaching Assistant Professor In Music
CurrentAssist with recruiting and teaching outstanding undergraduate/graduate music students while maintaining an active profile as a performing artist. Contribute to ongoing program and department curriculum development. ➤ Teach undergraduate and graduate music courses in music education, music theory, aural skills, music literature, and clarinet.➤ Develop, implement and review effective teaching/learning processes, incorporating appropriate methodology, technology and other tools; Remain current in discipline and update course content when appropriate to reflect current levels of student knowledge in the discipline.➤ Establish a system for ongoing evaluation of both teaching and learning, including expectations of student competency and student learning outcomes. Work in partnership with immediate supervisor through a formal system of evaluation of instruction to identify strengths and weaknesses and identify professional development activities to improve student learning. ➤ Collaborate with music faculty regarding organization of music seminars, recitals, juries, and more. Supervise recitals at the undergraduate (BA/BM) level. ➤ Work actively to strengthen collaborations between students.➤ Contribute to the growth and development of the Department of Music, the College of Arts and Sciences, the University, and the profession through participation in committees, departmental activities, and other service.➤ Maintain appropriate schedule of office hours for student access and inquiry. Facilitating counseling and degree planning for undergraduate and graduate students work in partnership with student success personnel on student advising and orientation. ➤ Participate in institutional service roles such as but not limited to, college committees, club sponsorship, and advisory committees.
