I undertook research and policy analysis, drafting briefings and consultation responses and providing policy advice. Policy areas included landscape, biodiversity, heritage, and trees and woodlands. My role involved liaison with National Park Professional Groups; writing and designing material for print and web publication; providing the secretariat for the All Party Parliamentary Group on National Parks; and supervising a part time volunteer Research and Administrative Assistant. I was also responsible for administrative duties in the National Parks England office, handling enquiries and arranging and servicing meetings.

I was reponsible for coordinating the effective delivery of practitioner and trainer training courses, working with regional colleagues.

I managed a full programme of regional and national conferences for Parenting UK, a national membership body for the parenting workforce. This involved devising programmes and liaising with speakers and venues; publicising events; handling event budgets; and supervising an Events Assistant.
