The Education and Digitality Expert Team "Expertenteam Bildung und Digitalität" was a group of specialists focused on issues related to schools and teaching within the framework of a digital culture. The Education and Digitality Team served as the source of inspiration for the Barcamp #rethinkingeducation, initiated by Dorothee Bär, Minister of State to the Federal Chancellor and Federal Government Commissioner for Digital Affairs. Representatives from schools, academia, and industry discussed concepts and ideas for the school of the future. The team was led by Prof. Dr. Uta Hauck-Thum, Professor of Primary Education and Didactics at LMU Munich.

Young people are our future. Today's decision-makers want to hear what they have to say to make decisions that will be upheld by them tomorrow. In Germany, 14 million young people between the ages of 12 and 27 live, representing 17 percent of the total population.At the state and municipal levels, there are partially legally established child and youth councils aimed at involving children and young people in important (local political) decisions. However, there is no equivalent institution at the federal level.The Youth Advisory Board Initiative, led by the Minister of State for Digital Affairs, aims to give young people a stronger voice at the federal level and involve them in crucial national decision-making processes. This is achieved by integrating and strengthening existing youth organization structures through cooperation and exchange.The Youth Advisory Board Initiative does not have an institutional structure but is an informal collaboration consisting of an agile core team and the youth network that is to be established. The Youth Advisory Board operates inclusively and cooperatively, with the core team deciding on the key focus areas.
