Merlyn Hurtado is an award winning multi-skilled analyst with hands-on experience in designing and implementing strategies to transform realities and solve problems for the most vulnerable people. As an agricultural engineer with specialization in GIS, a Master in international cooperation, and a Master in digital science, she has the preparation to work with multidimensional challenges, applying emerging data science paying close attention to high quality research methods, and co-creating solutions with and for the users. For more than a decade, she has worked with different multilateral organizations, academies, NGO's, and social enterprises in development projects, gaining vast expertise in solutions that address community needs and sustainable development, coordination and monitoring projects based on results, applying gender equality and human rights frameworks; data collection using participatory methods and crowdsourcing data solutions; and assessing and getting insights from policies and projects using qualitative analysis, statistical methods, data analytics, and natural language processing (NLP).Most of her work has been in areas devastated by armed conflict and climate change.
