I started Excalibur Language Solutions following the pandemic and the end of a contract for very fulfilling work for WANO. My deep dive into my motivation and passions revealed that first and foremost I thrive in a cross-cultural setting, where I can use my languages, work skills and my own multicultural background to support the success of a project or mission. Excalibur Language Solutions allows me to offer my services as a bilingual executive and team assistant who can work internationally, alongside continuing my very fulfilling role as an EFL teacher and English coach. I also have access to translators and interpreters working in Europe and the UK as well as other trusted multi-lingual executive assistants who can provide services when I am unable to.

Helping EDF Nuclear Power Stations prepare for WANO/IN Combined Peer Reviews and then providing bilingual administrative support to the WANO and IN Team Leaders and Coordinators for the duration of each mission. To date, I have supported combined missions at the Nuclear Power Plants (NPP) of Belleville, Bugey, Chooz, Dampierre, Golfech, and Paluel, and an Osart with the IAEA at Penly NPP.

Foreign Material Exclusion (FME) GuardianActed as a guardian for Foreign Material Exclusion (FME) during the statutory outage at Sizewell B Nuclear Power Plant in 2023. In this role, I implemented and enforced FME protocols and procedures to prevent foreign object debris incidents and maintain compliance with safety regulations; conducted regular inspections and walk-downs to identify and mitigate potential FME hazards; and collaborated closely with outage teams to ensure awareness and adherence to FME requirements throughout the outage period.

International

WANO's mission is to improve nuclear power plants around the world. Peer reviews (PR) are in-depth evaluations by teams of international experts and are integral to improving the reliability and safety of individual plants. On designated PRs, I acted as the strategic liaison between the WANO team and the plant. My job was to project manage the preparations for the PR from the previsit through the start of the mission.I worked on missions to: Bugey, Chooz, Paluel, Dampierre and St Laurent, in France; Hunterston and Heysham in the UK; Temelin in Czechia; Asco in Spain; Forsmark in Sweden; Daya Bay in China; and Olkiluoto in Finalnd.

International

As Language Support to WANO Peer Reviews, I helped optimise the written reports of WANO peers. These peers are technical experts in their fields in the nuclear industry and I worked collaboratively with them to provide specialised content and language editing, and quality control. In this capacity, I worked on missions to the NPPs of: Bugey, Chooz, Paluel, Dampierre and St Laurent, in France; Hunterston and Heysham in the UK; Temelin in Czechia; Asco in Spain; Forsmark in Sweden, and Olkiluoto in Finland.

I undertook marketing and PR for Saxmundham Free School shortly after its foundation, developing and implementing an advertising campaign and ensuring regular, high-quality local press coverage. This extended to all three schools in the Seckford Foundation Free Schools Trust. During this time I also mentored vulnerable students and provided EFL support to students whose first language was not English.

I set up and ran an online cosmetics business. I imported the products from South Africa and my client base extended across the world. I was responsible for all aspects of my business, from marketing and PR to client liaison.
