I led the design and implementation of advanced replication functionality. This weakly consistent asynchronous multiple master replication architecture allows a large network of servers to be bound into a cluster of machines for improved performance and reliability. I also contributed to other areas of the server, including software architecture, database indexing, materialized views, search query performance, SMP scalability and security.My additional responsibilities included maintaining technical relationships with other product teams within Netscape, with our OEM partners, with key customers and with industry standards bodies and forums. This included developing an Internet standard for directory replication within the IETF.

The server provided services for dealing with telephone calls, text-to-speech conversion, streaming audio data across data networks and interfacing with the Microsoft Exchange directory and message store.I had responsibility for designing and implementing several large components of the server--most significantly, a class library framework from which all server side services were implemented and the development of clustering techniques by which many servers could be bound into a single administrative domain.
