Responsible for the accountability, discipline, appearance, training and performance of the squad in garrison and in combat and the development of team leaders and their subordinates in the aspects of tactics and maturity through counseling and mentorship. Responsible for the condition, care and economical use of the squad's weapons and equipment and proficient in the care and employment of all optics in the platoon. Calls for and adjusts indirect fires and proficient in the coordination and controlling of close air support. Writes and issues combat orders and is proficient in all combat reporting procedures. Locates, closes with and destroys the enemy by fire and maneuver, and repels an enemy assault by fire and close combat. Lead through examples of professionalism, tactical proficiency and physical fitness.
