Ms. Lightner is a property owner, manager, attorney and real estate broker with 30 plus years-expertise in residential and commercial property management and development. She has managed real estate investments, limited partnerships and limited liability companies for the last three decades. She is responsible for the Lightner Property Group portfolio of property, as well as their clients real estate assets. She serves as an expert witness providing counsel on the appropriate standard of care for residential owners and managers, as well as habitability and injury cases. Ms. Lightner continues her development of www.MyRentalUnits.com which focuses on providing information, product reviews, referrals and resources for the small to mid-sized California property owner and manager. She serves as a Board member to the Bay Area community bank, First National Bank of Northern California. She sits on the Loan and Audit Committees and chairs the Compensation committee. Ms. Lightner has actively donated time and money to her community by serving as a Trustee for the Fort Mason Center, donating to local art programs, and serving as a mediator and arbitrator for the local Bar Association Fee Dispute program. In the past she served on the San Francisco Rent Stabilization & Arbitration Board for 12 years, and has been very active in industry organizations such as the San Francisco Apartment Association, California Apartment Association, Professional Property Managers Association of San Francisco, Coalition for Better Housing, and San Francisco Board of Realtors. Helped developed important landlord-tenant legislation during tenure on the Rent Board and with SFAA and CAAMs. Lightner's current focus is to share her vast property management experience through her writings, lecturing, teaching and expert witness work.
