Serve as the primary contact for the organization. Manage daily operations including external communications with members and public, liaison between internal committees, database work, financial record keeping. Assist in pursuit of foundation and grant funding to support the Association and its activities. Support Annual Conference logistics.

The MPHA is a statewide volunteer organization dedicated to providing an active, independent, voice to public health in Minnesota. • Duties include membership development and retention, serving on Governing Council of MPHA, assisting in online database, and supervising committee intern(s).• Outreach to individuals (students, professionals, and retirees) and corporate partners in traditional and non-traditional public health arenas. Represent MPHA at education events and conferences.• Conduct and analyze internet-based membership survey. • During 2013-2014 membership base increased 20%. In 2015 implemented a membership drive campaign, which resulted in reaching organization’s goal of 400 individual members.

Taking Steps Together (TST) is a nutrition and healthy lifestyle education program for families who are living with, or are concerned about, childhood obesity. Participants learn to: eat healthy, increase activity levels, and enjoy family time. • Ongoing partner with the Hennepin Health Foundation as a grant writer/administrator for a summer youth project. Duties include program planning, fundraising, participant recruitment, budget and final report.• Additional special projects include creating and nurturing partnerships with other community agencies whose missions align with ours; interdepartmental collaborations, fundraising and donation work.• Collaborated with University of Minnesota Design School classes to develop a communications packet, inclusive of infographics, logo/branding, and video for use in our outreach work.• Co-chaired a bike safety event connecting HCMC patients with community resources.

Harvest Pack is a non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to bringing nutritious food to the tables of those in need, with the help of people who care. Harvest Pack utilizes volunteers to pack nutrient-rich meals in an impactful, educational, and fun community service event. Our event hosts consist of businesses, schools, community groups, and faith-based groups. My role with Harvest Pack consists of grant writing, community development including relationships with the business community and schools, and bringing the public health perspective to our work with local hunger issues.
