Founded in 2015, Activate empowers scientists and engineers to reinvent the world by launching startups to address climate change and other global challenges. Working between government, philanthropy, universities, and the private sector, Activate transforms scientists and engineers into high-impact entrepreneurs through the Activate Fellowship, a two-year immersive experience that equips science entrepreneurs with the skills, networks, infrastructure, and funding they need to quickly and effectively bring their groundbreaking research to market. Activate is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and does not charge any fee nor equity for fellows to participate. Activate’s entrepreneurial fellowship model originated at Cyclotron Road, founding Activate partner and the first U.S. Department of Energy's Lab Embedded Entrepreneurship Program (LEEP) started at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Project: Novel electrochemical method to extract lithium from brines► Developed a novel process to extract lithium from brines economically and efficiently through electrochemical routes. ► The proposed idea has been selected as Semifinalist (1 of 15) for the HeroX American Made Geothermal Lithium Extraction Prize organized by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE).► The proposed idea obtained a $40,000 cash prize from the DOE.► The project acquired funding from an investment firm. ► Submitted 2 records of the invention.Project: All-solid-state battery using superionic ceramic electrolyte► Synthesized solid-state electrolyte for all-solid-state batteries with outstanding high ionic conductivity at room temperature (~0.3 S cm-1). ► Proposed and fabricated an all-solid-state battery employing superionic ceramic electrolyte (e.g., AgI, RbAg4I5) operating safely and reliably in high humidity environments. Project: Solid-state mediator supercapacitor► Synthesized and evaluated solid-state supercapacitors, specifically those based on redox-active mediators and/or nanocarbon materials.Project: Novel polymer electrolyte membrane for lithium-ion batteries► Produced a novel polymer electrolyte membrane using nanocarbon and redox-active materials for lithium-ion batteries.

► Taught undergraduates (classes of 30-40 students) Mechanics Laboratory (MAE 351), Design of Fluid and Thermal Systems (MAE 441), and Dynamics (MAE 202).► Performed mechanical experiments (tension, torsion, and vibration tests) and metallographic analysis of metals.► Supervised seniors (5+ students) during their senior design project on additive manufacturing of all-solid-state batteries.

► Established the student organization of FES at the University of Miami.► Managed the board, 4+ members, during the events.

► Managed the engineering team, 4 engineers, in the Space and Military projects of the company► Designed and developed the Xenon Propellant Tank for the first indigenous GEO satellite of Turkey.

► Involved in the production and design processes as well as the quality assurance► R&D: Drawing CAD parts, Finite Element Analysis, mechanical testing, and structural calculations of composite materials.► Production: Optimization of composite fabrication processes, specifically Filament Winding, Vacuum Infusion, Resin Transfer Molding, and Hot-Pressing.► Quality Management: Established the ISO 9001 quality management system► Collaborated in setting up OHSAS 18001 occupational health and safety system

► Assisted the engineering group of İZOREEL Composites, which is a polymer composite manufacturer based in Izmir, Turkey, in technical documentation and technical drawings.
