- A topology-based migration channel analysis algorithm has been developed in Python for preliminary computational screening of inorganic crystal structure databases and detection of candidate lithium-ion superionic conductor structures to be proceeded with further computationally expensive quantum mechanical simulations as part of the development of solid-state electrolytes for rechargeable Li-ion batteries, a Nobel prize winning technology (Chemistry - 2019) that powers our everyday electronics.- A non-crystalline materials simulation and analysis framework has been developed in C/C++ from scratch. The framework consists of interatomic pair potential function development for binary systems (aluminum-rare earth systems, particularly) by reproducing high-energy x-ray diffraction experimental data; atomistic simulations based on Monte Carlo methods and pair potentials; and chemical/topological analysis, and pattern extraction 3D atom configurations obtained from those simulations. The results reveal the local atomistic orderings of the liquid-like disordered matter providing explanation for the anomalous nanocrystalization behavior of such systems.
