He has 15 years of experience in assurance practice.Mert is a member of the Ankara Chamber of Certified Public Accountants and has passed the Public Oversight Accounting and Audit Standards Authority’s Auditor Exam. He is an ACCA candidate and holds several certificates from the Capital Market Board.He has extensive consulting experience in compliance with new accounting standards, GAAP conversions (IFRS to U.S. GAAP), supporting the preparation of financial statements (TFRS, IFRS, and U.S. GAAP), and risk consulting projects mainly focused on financial statement close processes. His work includes analyzing financial statement closing processes, identifying control gaps and inefficiencies, and reporting observations and recommendations.Mert has significant expertise in business valuation and integrated reporting. He has worked on numerous valuation projects, helping clients determine the fair value of their businesses for various purposes such as mergers and acquisitions, financial reporting, and strategic planning. His integrated reporting experience involves assisting companies in creating comprehensive reports that combine financial and non-financial information, providing a holistic view of their performance and strategy.Mert has contributed as an lead auditor and team leader to auditing, reporting, consolidation, and financial due diligence projects for various companies under IFRS & IAS, CMB, and POA Regulations. His approach requires analyzing the client’s business environment and strategies to enhance efficiency in business operations.His experience includes auditing leading companies in various sectors such as government initiatives, the energy sector, and manufacturing industries, as well as experience in consolidation projects. He has performed and documented audit procedures to appraise the soundness and adequacy of internal control systems based on a comprehensive understanding of the clients' general business. He has also performed audits of publicly traded U.S. firms according to PCAOB and SEC standards.Additionally, Mert has conducted IFRS and sector-specific training for clients and audit staff and has been involved in the marketing, proposal, and contract phases of various assignments.
