Major Modules Developed:- 3D image registration and fusion- Statistical analysis for quantification of 3D image registration algorithm- 3D Registration for Tractography- Segregation and optimization of Image filtering algorithms- User interface development for runtime switch of look and feel of a post processing applicationDevelopment of 3D image registration and fusion involved creating a framework in already existing application for integration of registration algorithm that is developed based on ITK. The framework consists of reading DICOM images, creation of 3D volumes, and setting of rejection criteria. The framework also handles display of registered image in 2D as well as in 3D viewer. The statistical analysis for quantification of registration algorithm involved finding suitable metric for quantification from set of metrics like mutual information (MI), normalized mutual information (NMI), cross correlation metric etc. Segregation and optimization of image filtering algorithms involved removing tight coupling of image processing application with algorithms so that both can vary independently.Environment: C, C++, X windows, Linux, CVSResponsibilities:- Driving of 3D image registration and fusion application development- Collaboration with global research team- Requirement collection, Design and implementation of integration of 3D image registration algorithm in post processing application toolkit- Statistical analysis and verification of 3D registration algorithm.- Segregation and optimization of algorithms. The optimization is done in both space as well as in time complexity- Design and implementation of user interface development for runtime switch of look and feel of a post processing application- Memory and code optimization of currently developed modules as well as already existing software using well-known tools like Valgrind and TotalView- Driving validation of 3D image registration algorithm at Clinical sites
