The Community and Economic Development Law Clinic (CEDLC) provides transactional legal services for client groups engaged in neighborhood-based community development. CEDLC represents and helps organize small non-profits, businesses, and tenants' associations, all of which share the goal of developing resources for greatly underserved urban communities.Student attorneys are tasked with a variety of transactional tasks, including: drafting articles of incorporation and contracts; negotiating and representing clients at zoning commissions and agency oversight hearings; and compliance assessments relating to zoning and licensing requirements.

The Symposium Editor is primarily responsible for planning, organizing and managing the journal’s annual symposium. This task includes contacting and recruiting speakers, coordinating logistics, and planning the publicity of the event. The Editor has wide discretion over the topic of the symposium for that year. Additionally, the Editor is responsible for performing final edits of articles. The 2015 Annual American University International Law Review is titled "Protection Art and Cultural Property Through International Law" and is co-hosted by the American University Intellectual Property Brief, the American Society of International Law Cultural Heritage and the Arts Interest Group, and Center for Art Law.

IRAdvocates, together with its partner law firm, Conrad & Scherer LLP, litigates multinational corporate social responsibility cases in federal courts under the Alien Torts Statute (ATS), the Torture Victims Protection Act (TVPA), and state law.Researched and analyzed legal questions related to these cases. These included the following: choice-of-law rules, admissibility of evidence, corporate liability, compelling evidence, aiding and abetting liability, defense of depositions, as well as other procedural and substantive aspects of civil litigation under state, federal, and international case law.
