- Leading on the strategic direction of YF to ensure impactful, cost-effective and sustainable delivery of universal and targeted youth and play services. - Managing and motivating teams for operations, income generation, finances, resource allocation, health and safety and safeguarding. - Building, developing and leveraging relationships with key partners and stakeholders both regionally and nationally including local authority and central government politicians and civil servants, statutory services, competitor and partner VCS providers, community representatives, parents and young people.- Providing the board with a strategic analysis of and solutions to vicissitudes to ensure organisational sustainability and growth. - Representing and promoting the organisation at a regional and national level and maintaining an in-depth knowledge of and influence in the youth services, early help, mutuals and charitable sectors. Including on public-sector strategic boards, representative and speaker at All-party parliamentary groups and media work for example on BBC Today program, BBC News at 6,10 and BBC World)

• Managing Lewisham Youth Support Service including a £5.2m budget, 232 staff, commissioning of services and estate management.• Designing and leading service remodeling and restructuring to ensure a more targeted impact-driven delivery.• Ensuring continued high quality service delivery during restructure.

• Lead on commissioning of children’s mental health services, parenting and family support services through a £6m overall budget. Including assessment of need, market research and development, service design and development, procurement and contract management.• Development of and support for strategic and business planning, performance monitoring and evaluation across Lewisham’s Children’s Partnership.• Development and support for value for money/ efficiency initiatives by frontline services.

• Management of a specialist policy team with responsibility for staff performance and professional development.• Facilitation of local and national strategic plans to frontline realities through the development of simple tools for monitoring and evaluation of strategies by directorate service managers and frontline staff.• Development of service user participation in strategic planning including a new Family Information Service and online Family Service Directory.• Lead on preparation and facilitation of inspections including Lewisham’s 2007 ‘three star’ Ofsted Joint Area Review.

• Direct work with vulnerable, offending and at-risk young people and their families offering Information, advice and guidance to ensure positive life outcomes.• Evaluation of client and community needs and partnering with local voluntary sector to develop new services. Including the development of an informal learning program for local disengaged (NEET) young people.
