Meryl Hubbard is a fourth-year student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison studying reporting and strategic communications with a minor in dance. Meryl grew up in San Diego with a passion for storytelling and the arts. She trained in classical ballet, contemporary, and modern dance from her childhood years and into her undergraduate career. After dedicating fifteen years to pre professional and professional dance, Meryl started to tell stories through her writing. She was accepted into the School of Journalism and Mass Communications and shifted her storytelling gears into journalism. She developed her experience as an arts writer and podcast producer for the Badger Herald Newspaper and news reporter on WSUM student radio. She also developed her leadership skills as the Vice President of New Membership for Phi Gamma Nu, where she led weekly meetings to mentor new members with their professional development. Now, Meryl is an intern reporter for Channel 3000. She finds new stories every day and broadcasts content for live television. Meryl has a knack for reporting with empathy and integrity. She has a sincere passion for telling stories that shine a light on humanity. Looking ahead, Meryl sees herself pursuing investigative journalism and long-form storytelling as a way to share in-depth stories that impact human perspective.
