CurrentChief Construction Engineer for the Chacao Suspension Bridge Project. COWI - R&Q JV is providing QA and Expert Engineering Services to the owner (Ministerio de Obras Públicas) for the construction of South America's Longest Span Bridge, and the longest 3-tower multi-span suspended bridge in the World, with its two 1155+1055 m main spans. Being located at one of the most seismic and tsunami-prone areas in the World (the strongest earthquake ever recorded happened only 200 km away – Valdivia, 1960), crossing a strait of the Pacific Ocean in a windy, cold, foggy and rainy location, the Bridge will sit in one of the more challenging possible locations with respect to constructability, durability, structural performance, maintenance and environmental sensitivity. It will be one of a kind. Head of a team of accomplished Engineers on-site, leading the QA and construction supervision for the owner, supported by COWI's network of World-Class experts in different disciplines.
