Cold Gas Demonstrator•Executed a thermal analysis on Simcenter 3D of the PCB model, which enabled accurate temperature reaction prediction and informed design decisions, resulting in a 15% reduction in prototype iterations.•Researched and analyzed the Cold Gas Module CubeSat's movement on a low friction table, and its use of refrigerant R-134a as fuel, which informed the project's direction.•Designed a new PCB schematic with a new IMU (accelerometer, magnetometer, gyroscope) for a TI Microcontroller to create a digital twin and a physical model for the small satellite.•Conducted a literature review of the space environment to determine temperatures and pressure in space, contributing to a team of 5 researchers.•Programmed the Application Program Interface (API) on Code Composer Studio for an ARM device to create the GPIOs, Analog to Digital Converter (ADC), and Pulse Width Modulation (PWM), which allowed easier used interface.Artificial Intelligence/ Machine Learning•Created a Digital Twin on NX Basic and transferred it to Simcenter 3D to simulate the temperature phenomena on a System-on-Model (SoM) board.•Monitored heat behavior on the physical board and compared the result between the simulation and the physical model giving an accuracy of 98%.•Researched the three types of heat transfer to understand how they work and how to simulate convection in the board, which informed the development of a new heat transfer simulation methodology.•Created a research paper that evaluated the simulation efficiency between the physical board and simulated CAD to prepare a research paper which will help the project for future simulations.Electrospray•Developed a propulsion system based on ionizing liquid with high voltages to maneuver a small satellite in space.•Tested and implemented a DC-to-DC booster converting 5V up to 2000V that fits in a small satellite providing the power to the thrusters using a TIVA C microcontroller.
