About Me'Shae Brooks-Rolling, Mpa
Me'Shae Brooks-Rolling is a native of Anderson, IN. She traveled northeast to pursue her M.P.A. with an Alfred P. Sloan fellowship at Syracuse University. Upon graduation from SU, she moved to New York City. Me'Shae began her career as an Auditor/Evaluator for the now-named U.S. General Government Accountability Office. She made a career transition into Special Events & Conference Management, studying at New York University and eventually working as a Senior Events Coordinator in the City of New York Office of The Mayor.As a young professional living and working in the "Big Apple," Me'Shae realized that she was lacking basic financial literacy skills, and became concerned over society's general absence of financial education. She authored a book, "How To Save Money & Organize Your Finances: Tales of an Urban Consumer"; and more recently, a Course Handbook on financial literacy education.Upon her move to Central New York in 2007, Me'Shae became the Director of Special Events & Public Relations at The Burton Blatt Institute at Syracuse University and subsequently, Director of Special Events and Conferences at the Institute for Veterans and Military Families also at Syracuse University. Me'Shae has been a Certified Special Events Professional (CSEP) as designated by the International Special Events Society; and is a Certified Educator in Personal Finance (CEPF) as designated by Fincert.org--The Center for Financial Certifications--affiliated with The Institute for Financial Literacy. She is MWBE-Certified by The City of Syracuse, New York State, and the NY/NJ Minority Supplier Development Council (MSDC).In May 2018, Me'Shae became a franchise owner of EventPrep, Inc., a national firm with a global reach specializing in hotel and vendor contracting, and meeting and event planning. This was a historic occasion, as she became the brand's first Owner/Operator in New York State and the northeast territory.In September 2020, Me'Shae was appointed Executive Director of the Upstate Minority Economic Alliance, Central New York's Regional minority chamber of commerce. Me'Shae presently serves on a number of foundation and advisory boards serving the Syracuse community.
