Patrick Meschenmoser is founder and owner of EMERGEandSEE and member of the Emergency Protection Committee of the German Commission on Radiological Protection.For more than 20 years he has gathered both extensive hands-on experience in corporate and crisis communication in an international, high-exposure environment. He responded to events such as airplane crashes, natural disasters, strikes, radiological emergencies, diplomatic incidents, data and cyber security issues, the falsification of medicines and many more.Having worked for more than eight years for the Lufthansa Group, one of the biggest aviation groups in the world, hegathered major experience in high-level international corporate communication, media relations, crisis and issues management. As the responsible manager for global crisis communication and, later as Chief Press Officer, leading Lufthansa's issues communication, he learned about the challenges and advantages of social media for crisis communication.After some years as Director Media Relations for STADA, an international pharmaceutical group, Patrick was appointed Crisis Communication Adviser of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). As such he was responsible for coordinating the development of international guidance for effective crisis communication in radiation emergencies for the IAEA's Member States, the first of its kind worldwide, and the international communication training programme. He also was the Agency's spokesman in case of an emergency.As an expert in risk and crisis communication, Patrick was appointed member of the Emergency Preparedness and Response Committee of the German Commission on Radiological Protection by Germany's Federal Ministry of the Environment.
