I am a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant with a Bachelor of Social Work degree pursuing a full-time position working with members of the geriatric population to regain their independence and quality of life with dignity and respect. I completed a social work internship in an assisted living facility, and fieldwork in both an acute care hospital and a PACE program.My background includes years of direct care experience working in various settings with diverse populations and ages 8 to 105 including adults with developmental disability and/or mental illness in group home settings, at-risk youth in residential foster care settings, children and adults in acute rehabilitation facility and elder adults in a skilled nursing facility. Additionally, I have extensive personal experience caring for parents with chronic progressive diseases, managing all aspects of care, advocacy, modifications for safety and independence allowing both to remain in their home through end of life. My education and experience have equipped me with interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills, which foster my passion for empowering others to build on their strengths and tap into what motivates them in order to realize their potential and achieve their goals.
